Stephen Cravens founded Sutton Hill in 2014 in order to enable private equity firms to focus on what they do best:  source and execute transactions.

Previously, Mr. Cravens led the private equity fund analytics group at Cogent Partners, serving institutional and family office limited partners globally. In this capacity, asset owners* leveraged Mr. Cravens for specialized private equity fund due diligence, valuation, and liquidity advisory assignments – including those that involved "sell vs. hold" decisions. Cogent Partners (acquired by Greenhill) pioneered the secondary market for private equity and is the leading sell-side advisor worldwide for LP stakes.

Mr. Cravens was also a member of the investment team at First Reserve, the largest and oldest private equity firm focused on the energy industry, while they deployed the firm's $8 billion Fund XI. He was responsible for all aspects of the investment process, ranging from deal origination and structuring to due diligence, execution, and monitoring.

Mr. Cravens founded Young Professionals in Energy in 2005 and continues to serve as its executive director, leading efforts to empower leadership at the local level. YPE is the established global hub for rising leaders in the energy industry with 40,000 members in 40 chapters worldwide.

Mr. Cravens holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, McCall, and three children.

* Note:  Asset owners include endowments, foundations, corporate and public pension funds, insurance companies and family offices.

Rebecca Converse joined Sutton Hill in 2016. Previously, Ms. Converse was the Director of Investor Relations, Marketing and Communications at Wind Point Partners, a middle market buyout fund based in Chicago where she worked for 17 years.

Ms. Converse coordinated efforts for two funds raised without placement agents at Wind Point Partners: a $915 million fund closed in 2009 and a $715 million fund closed in 2006. In support of these efforts, Ms. Converse continuously identified, met and qualified existing and potential investors; developed standard fundraising materials and data sites including pitch books, PPMs, diligence questionnaires, and data sheets; responded to specific questions and information requests; managed legal and subscription document flow; and coordinated related internal and external resources, process tracking, and road show efforts. Ms. Converse also supported a $476 million fund closed in 2002 and a $405 million fund closed in 2000 that were raised with the assistance of placement agents.

In addition to fundraising and investor relations, Ms. Converse covered a wide range of other responsibilities at Wind Point Partners. She guided and edited key materials for investors, including update presentations, quarterly reports, capital call / distribution notices, investment summaries, and case studies. She coordinated all facets of annual meetings and advisory board meetings, to include site selection, registration, logistics, presentation compilation and editing, and presenter rehearsals and coaching. She led two general marketing overhauls (logos, business collateral, presentation templates, and websites), and supervised a press relations program. She also was a member of the selection team for three firm-wide CRM systems.

Ms. Converse holds a BA from the University of Michigan and MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She lives in Memphis with her husband and four children.
